Protest Frenzy

This week was a whirlwind of new adventures, I feel as if I am finally a true Wahingtonian, now that I’ve been to my first protests. How it started was oddly unexpected though. Many of the girls on my floor are latino or hispanic and they were all making posters in our lounge. I asked them what they were planning on doing, they told me they were going to a protest. Immediately I wanted to go, not initially interested in why, but simply to witness the process. They told me that I had to wear all black and that we would meet at the metro station. Sounded a bit shady but, hey, it was a protest after all. I had fun needless to say, and I fell in love with the cause. The protest was about Venezuela, and how the government is ignoring not only the basic and fundamental human rights but also its people. Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia

No not this Chia: this chia : Chia seeds are a trending new way of being healthy, and I absolutely approve. I get up late sometimes (well really, almost every day), and I sadly can’t make eggs, bacon and oatmeal in the tiring 20 mibute dash that goes on at 8 in the morning. So I use chia seeds to take the place of breakfast, kind of like a protein shake. ” But really Ashley are you honestly expecting me to swallow seeds, I mean come on,” well you don’t necesarily eat them like that, though I do tend to sprinkle them on my oatmeal from time to time. Usually you would add chia seeds to a drink, or even yogurt (which is extremley delicious, I assure you), while letting the chia seeds sit for about 2 minutes you should stir them so they don’t get clumped together.
