Steamboat Willy’s Guide to Fourth of July in Disneyworld

As a fellow foodie and traveler extraordinaire, the blogs mascot Steamboat Willy and I decided to show you how to spend your fourth of July in Disney World.

First things first . . . I’m the realest  . . . Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry  . . . DARN YOU IGGY AZALEA.

The two best places to watch fireworks for the fourth are Magic Kingdom and Epcot. But because I love food so much . . . so very, very much, we decided it would be more fun to eat around the world then afterwards spend the rest of the night watching fireworks in the park. And that is exactly what we did.

Epcot is the best place to spend the fourth of July in Dineyworld

When you travel the world you get a greater sense of how amazing your own country is, so what better way to appreciate the fourth than by going to Epcot?

I’m sorry that you got cut off Canada, I didn’t mean to.

Just so you don’t get lost here is a map of Epcot.

The type of course I took while in Epcot was the Foodie Trek, but maybe you don’t want to eat so many courses in one day. This is a vacation, not the Fourth of July hot dog eating contest. Well if you have a sweet tooth, here’s an alternative

The Fat Cat Path2d9464601f6eadbea715b6844c14e21c

Its called the fat cat path because you better have a lot of $$$$ in your wallet if you plan on eating desert in every country.

For those who aren’t as interested in being a foodie in such an opportune place, I present to you the path of my father: The beer map of the world.

The Tipsy Trek

But wait are you under 21? Well I’m sorry but it looks like the 21 and over trek is not suitable for you, but not to worry there is another way for you to drink around the world~~~~~~~~

The Non-Alcoholic Route

{yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay}

The Coca-Cola center is located in the front of Epcot, to the right of the humongous Epcot golfball.

I recommend that you sneak a couple of empty water bottles inside. . .  but don’t tell them that you heard it from me. The Fanta Melon from Thailand is the first you should go for, in order to ease your way into the taste testing style of  Coca-Cola. If you would like to crush all sense of taste buds and ruin any wish to drink anything in Italy, then I recommend the Beverly {good luck}.

Back to the original conversation.

The Foodie Trek

Instead of going in order like a normal person, I would much rather confuse you by going in order of our top favorites.

First Place goes to Morocco!

Willy went around the world in 80 minutes. But Morocco was his favorite.

Willy went around the world in 80 minutes. But Morocco was his favorite.

We dined in almost every country in Epcot, well that is the ones that had interesting food. Who wants to eat food in America, we live there, and I don’t feel like eating a hamburger. I want tabouleh and lamb shwarma, which is exactly what I had when I went to Morocco [and yes my autocorrect freaked out when I typed those words in]. I also had cous cous, flatbread, and an amazing red icee drink which I still don’t know the contents of.

But there were many other reasons that I loved Morocco the most.

It seemed to be the most elaborate, it was very beautiful, and there were many things to do beyond the usual food and store bits that the other countries had.

If you ever go to Morocco in Disney World, Epcot be sure to walk behind the stores and restraunts to the the back alley. I felt like I was in my favorite Disney movie.

Why yes Aladdin, I would gladly go on a magic carpet ride with you . . . any day, any time. ;)

Woah what is going on with me and all of these tangents today?

the back alleys of Morocco

No matter how hard Willy tried to escape the tourist they always found him  . . . ALWAYS.

Hookah anyone?

None of them were magic, what a rip off.

Mambo Italiano

Although Morocco’s display was to die for, Italy’s “cast” {which is what the workers at Disney are called} felt like family.

WIlly's second favorite place was Italy.

WIlly’s second favorite place was Italy.

The gelato is to die for, the Tiramisu has a little bit too much coffee in it, and the melon e prosciutto, along with the antipasti was bellisimo. Also, the cast will gladly speak Italian to you, just don’t be annoying about it. Grazi means thank you, and Buongiorno means good morning {not hello}.

Waiting in line for some more food.

While we were in the restaurant another table was watching FIFA on their phone, and although I cant remember who was playing that day I do remember some of the waiters celebrating the win with their customers by dancing on the chairs and jumping up and down like little school girls.

The Italians might have loved FIFA, but the british definetly showed it more.

England was adorable, not as many restaurants, yet just as quirky. The picture above was taken in the Rose&Crown, I’ve been there before but I couldn’t tell if it’s usually that crowded, or just this way because FIFA took over.

Window shopping in England was jolly good. I liked the prices they were like the british, reasonable.

How can Willy keep calm when this bag is so amazing?

TEEEEAAAAAAAA. Yes Please.

But there was a place that seemed to cater to the window shopper in me a bit more intensely than  England.

An American {Werewolf Willy} in Paris

Paris was packed.

Paris was packed.

You might ask “Ashley, why is Paris so far down on the list?” well concerned reader its because Paris was a little crowded. How crowded you ask?

VERY CROWDED

It was hard getting to all of the shops but when we did it was worth awkwardly rubbing against random strangers, which sounds worse than it actually was.

Not only was the window shopping adorable but the food looked delicious. I say looked because I didn’t eat it, I suppose Epcot was really trying to channel Paris correctly, because they cranked up the prices in France. I think i will stick to eating my freedom fries thank you very much.

If only Willy had enough money

The one thing I recommend you not do is wait in line for this restaurant.

This restraunt in France reminds Willy a lot of his favorite retraunt Le Diplomate.

I highly doubt it was worth the mile long line that people stood in during the July fireworks.

Japan is looking very cloudy today.

Japan is mostly stores, but I don’t think I have ever had so much fun in a store before. Inside you can find various toys and gifts and even a tank where you can pick out oysters. Why would you pick an oyster? So that you can have the bragging rights that you picked out your very own pearl fresh from the water.
